WEBER’S WINNINGS
Date: 1960
Even in bowling’s golden age, most players could not support themselves through match winnings alone. Still, Dick Weber made an impressive amount of money in competitions. By the end of the 1959–1960 season, Weber had raked in over $17,000 in individual winnings, more than any of the other Buds team members. His highest winnings came from a victory at the Empire State Tournament, held in Albany, New York, in May of 1960. Weber won the tournament with an average score of 240 across 28 games!
