THE MAGIC OF AMF
Date: ca. 1959
If pinsetting could be automated and made simpler, why couldn’t ball return? The AMF Magic Circle, released a few years after the Pinspotter, addressed this very concern. The circular revolving tray housed multiple balls at once, and bowlers could turn the mechanism to easily grab their own ball. In the center was a hand dryer to help prevent any slippage during a roll. The unit came complete with an attached scoring table and a chair.
