THE FINE ART OF BOWLING
Date: 1930
St. Louis, Missouri, folk artist Victor Joseph Kunz painted what he knew, from local landscapes to bowling alleys. This painting of three bowlers presents a familiar sight in St. Louis given the immense popularity of the sport in that city. The painting sold for a mere $100 around 1930. Today, many of Kunz’s other paintings are in Missouri museums and in the hands of private collectors.
