THE ARMORY HOSTS ALL-STARS
Date: 1958
The stars were out in full force at the 1958 BPAA All-Star Tournament, including (left to right) Marion Ladewig, Eddie Lubanski, Marion Turash and Don Carter, who won his fourth title. The event took place at the National Guard Armory in Minneapolis. After World War II, the building was used as a public exhibition space for concerts, civic events and sports, serving as a home for the NBA’s Minneapolis Lakers. More than 28,000 packed the Armory over the 10-day bowling tournament, setting a new attendance record for the event.
