ST. PAUL TOURNAMENT
Date: 1941
Winters are long in Minnesota, so when the 41st annual American Bowling Congress international tournament came to St. Paul in March 1941 (which is definitely still winter in Minnesota), the locals came out in droves to support the keglers. Interest was keen enough that nearby cities and towns chartered special trains to take spectators to St. Paul, sometimes sending marching bands with them. The 1941 ABC tournament ended up attracting record crowds.
