PIN BOYS ON STRIKE IN GRAND RAPIDS

Grand Rapids proudly advertised the city’s chief industry, furniture-making, on the membership ribbons for the 17th annual international tournament of the American Bowling Congress. The tournament was nearly derailed by striking pin boys, but members of two Toledo teams and some other volunteers pitched in to do pin duty until the strikers’ argument with the ABC secretary had resolved.
