OH OH IT’S MAGIC
Date: ca. 1975
Less than a decade after the first automatic scorer debuted, AMF released the MagicScore, a revolutionary new scoring system. A reviewer who attended the demonstration declared that the MagicScore “literally obsoletes all other units” available. The device used flashing arrows to alert bowlers to their turn, kept team score totals in addition to individual scores and provided a printed scoresheet with the touch of a button. The American Bowling Congress approved the device in 1976, making it the most advanced scorer on the market.
