LADY BIRD JOHNSON, A PROUD WIBC MEMBER
Date: March 15, 1966
As First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson was no stranger to the White House bowling alley. Though not a regular bowler before moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., she quickly took to the sport. The Women’s International Bowling Congress, already a thriving organization, had scored a 300 in terms of high-profile endorsements! In May of 1966, WIBC president Alberta Crowe was joined by other WIBC officers in presenting the First Lady with a gold membership card for the organization.
