JUDY COOK’S EARLY VICTORIES
Billy Hardwick and Judy Cook both finished runner-up in their respective men’s and women’s divisions at the 1970 BPAA All-Star Tournament. Hardwick finished behind Bobby Cooper, while Cook fell approximately 300 pins short of Mary Baker. Cook’s illustrious bowling journey began at a young age. At 11, she competed in the Women’s International Bowling Congress Championship Tournament (now known as the USBC Women’s Championship). Remarkably, at 15, she participated in the BPAA All-Star Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio, and at 17 she finished ninth in the tournament in Miami Beach, Florida. Cook’s career was studded with achievements, including Bowler of the Year titles in 1973 and 1975, and doubles victories at the Women’s Championships in 1969 and 1970 with Gloria Simon.
