Times were different back in the 1940s! Entries for ABC tournaments had to be mailed in to the organization’s headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With thousands of singles and teams entering each year, it was a time-consuming process. Following the end of the ABC tournaments, money prizes were mailed to each individual winner, whether they won as a single or as a team.
