GROWTH IN THE 1940S
Date: 1940s
During the 1940s, bowling enjoyed a remarkable surge in popularity, as Americans sought more recreational activities during and after World War II. The transformative decade also marked the inception of the BPAA All-Star Tournaments, which attracted audiences that turned bowling alleys into entertainment hubs. The BPAA All-Star Tournaments served as a catalyst for the “golden age” of bowling that spanned from the 1940s well into the 1960s.
