DICK WEBER IN DALLAS
Date: 1964
The 23rd BPAA All-Star Tournament, held at the State Fair Coliseum in Dallas, Texas, introduced significant changes. The traditional Petersen point system was replaced by the PBA Tour’s point system, marking a major shift in the competition’s format. Additionally, the three-game TV roll-off format was modified, now exclusively applied to the two championship matches. In the men’s division, Detroit’s Bob Strampe clinched the coveted top prize of $15,000, while LaVernge Carter emerged as the women’s champion, securing the top prize of $5,000. Notably, bowling legend Dick Weber, shown here in this image, finished fourth in the field of 288 men.
