CHASE AND THE QUEEN
Date: 1960
Bob Chase, hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, showcased his bowling prowess at the 1960 BPAA All-Star Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska, securing a second-place finish behind Harry Smith. This photograph captures him on a ball return, alongside the tournament’s Queen, Nancy Schnell. Chase’s legacy in the bowling world was nothing short of spectacular, as he earned the title of King of Bowlers in consecutive years from 1957 to 1959. Beyond his impressive bowling record, he was a familiar face on television shows like Top Stars, Jackpot Bowling and Make that Spare. His philanthropic spirit also shined brightly as a staunch advocate and supporter of Kansas City’s Bowl-a-Thon for Cerebral Palsy.
