BOWLING’S OLYMPIC QUEST
Date: May 23, 1997
After bowling’s appearance at the 1988 Summer Games in Seoul, South Korea, participants played in the 1997 Africa Cup, which publicized the sport’s continued quest to earn official Olympic status. Cape Town made a bid for the 2004 Summer Games around this time.
