BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED FOR BOWLING
Date: 1880s
Touted as the “finest exposition center in the nation”, the Milwaukee Industrial Exposition Building was constructed in 1881 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The building was designed by the noted architectural firm E. Townsend Mix and followed the eccentric Queen Anne style. The Exposition Building boasted a 6,000-seat music hall, a bicycle track, a fish hatchery and an organ with 3,000 pipes. It was here that the 1905 ABC Tournament was held from February 18-25. Just four months later in June 1905, the building was destroyed by a fire during a card tournament.
