ANTHONY’S 100 GRAND BALL
Date: 1975
For Earl Anthony, 1975 was a big year. Anthony was already one of the nation’s best bowlers, but that year he set a record for total winnings when he became the first bowler to pass $100,000 in a season. Anthony used this orange Ebonite ball to secure the purse. He set another record at the 1982 PBA National Championship in Toledo, Ohio, when he became the first professional bowler to pass $1 million in lifetime earnings. He secured the needed win with a strike on the second roll of his final frame, as 14 million viewers watched the televised event. Watch a video!
