A LIFETIME MEMBER
Date: October 7, 1969
President Richard Nixon frequently bowled during his time in the Oval Office. His wife, Pat Nixon, also loved the sport. In 1969, the First Lady earned a lifetime membership to the Women’s International Bowling Congress. The president gifted her with a bowling ball to celebrate the occasion. It was good motivation — Mrs. Nixon told reporters she planned to take up bowling seriously so that she could outscore her husband in future games.
