PIN BOYS AT WORK

After bowling machinery had begun to automate some processes but before the invention of the fully-automatic pinsetter, pin boys were still required to perform some pinsetting duties. This photo shows a group of young men either at the end of a long day or preparing themselves for the onslaught of bowling balls to come. Pin boys would operate the machines by hand to reset pins and return balls.
