ANTIQUE ALLEYS
Date: 2018
Bowling technology may be more advanced than ever, but there are still plenty of opportunities to try out older equipment. The novelty of bowling on non-automated lanes is a draw for some bowling fanatics and several bowling centers have capitalized on the appeal of vintage pinsetters and ball returns. At the same time, other facilities make use of period equipment out of necessity. Take for instance McMurdo Station in Antarctica. For decades, the remote locale featured leisure activities including a Brunswick Manual Pinset System. For those interested in the retro experience, the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame in Arlington, Texas, also hosts an old-fashioned alley.
