MCNEVICH IS ALMOST PERFECT
Date: 1962
Ben McNevich of Staten Island, New York, is shown here bowling his way to a 299-game performance at the 1962 BPAA All-Star Tournament in Miami, Florida. While he didn’t secure a top-15 finish, McNevich’s dazzling display left a lasting impression. Over his career, he achieved nine perfect 300 games, with the last one at 68 years old. McNevich also held the title of Staten Island’s undefeated match-game champion for 12 consecutive years. In 1997, he earned a spot in the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame, a testament to his enduring excellence in the sport.
